What Is This?

Other Alias courses teach you to make a car body surface and design and make it clean, detailed, standard and beautiful. But this one teaches you what happens after it! when package space, hardpoints, and manufacturing feasibility decide whether that beautiful surface ever becomes a real car.

Why This Course Exists

Most Alias training, including most of MS3D Academy courses stops at the surface design and 3d modeling but not production. From the OEM point of view, the exterior surface is only half the process. The other half happens in the handoff between design and engineering: validating package space, surfacing around hardpoints, keeping a structure safe, frame or subframe volume both stylish and producable.

This is the skill set that separates a modeler who can make a clean surface from the one who can survive a design review with an engineering team in the room and it's a skillset almost nobody is teaching.

What You'll Master

  • Hardpoint Driven Surfacing

Building surfaces that respect fixed engineering constraints from the start, not fighting them after the fact.

  • Mechanical Validation

Checking your surfacing against real mechanical challenges before they become expensive problems

  • Feasibility Surfacing

Designing chassis and underbody surfaces that can actually be manufactured. No data analyse needed as we use ready made data from engineering teams.

  • Structure, Frame and Subframe Volumes

This is about a full surfacing process of the areas most courses skip and leave them for engineering teams.

  • Design Engineering Presentation

How to present and defend surfacing decisions to an engineering team

Who This Is For

This course is created for working professionals, not first time Alias users for sure. Also students who've completed a Full Exterior NURBS Car Modeling with Autodesk Alias Course (at MS3D Academy or elsewhere) can follow this. They will be ready to become an expert at Chassis Engineering Surfacing for real OEM studio works.

Who can follow this course?

1. Professionals who want to do the hardest conversation in a design studio where design meets engineering.
2. Students who want to learn the engineering side of digital modeling and learn about chassis fundamentals from zero

What MS3D students are saying…

No items found.

We may have received some very short reviews from students, such as "Good", "Fine", "Best", etc. We decided not to include these in the dedicated section because they don’t provide enough detail or meaningful feedback. However, the total number of reviews includes these as well.
